Simon Palmer is a renowned British watercolour artist, born in Yorkshire in 1956. He graduated from Reigate Art School in 1977 and has lived and worked in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, for the past four decades. His work is deeply inspired by the beautiful landscapes of Wensleydale, capturing its narrow lanes, railway bridges, drystone walls, and ancient trees.
Palmer has exhibited extensively since 1980, with ten one-man exhibitions in London with JHW Fine Art. He has also shown his work at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, where he won the 2007 Turner/Winsor & Newton Watercolour Award. Notable group exhibitions include the National Trust Centenary exhibition and “Art & Yorkshire: Turner to Hockney” at the Mercer Art Gallery.
He is an Honorary Member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours and has published three books, including “Pebbles on a Beach”. His work is held in many private collections across Europe, America, Australia, and Japan
