Colour woodcut, 1937. This, in many ways, is
quintessential Lazzell. The colours are bold and the shapes, whilst
descriptively true to their content, tend towards the angular, the
geometric and the abstract. Not for nothing was Lazzell hailed as a
bridging artist between earlier, firmly representational exponents, and
later artists who would embrace abstraction.
