Oil on canvas 1936. Most likely a depiction of the artist’s first wife Hilda, their two daughters, Unity and Shirin, and a cow-girl herding the cattle above them. This is at play in the meadow. The girls are not escaping their mother’s clutches, nor are they in fear of the cattle. They are luxuriantly exploring their environs, crawling over the grass and reaching for dandelion clocks whilst the sun warms the whole of this gentle scene.
