Miroslav Sasek – Pottinger Street, Hong Kong Watercolour with pen and ink, originally for ‘This is Hong Kong’ (1965). Pottinger Street (or – for those who can – 砵典乍街) is named after Henry Pottinger, the first Governor of Hong Kong. But by the locals it is better known as ‘Stone Slab Street’. You can just discern them here – the series of granite stone steps which line this famous walkway, and from which the local name derives.
