Linocut (1934). Original size: 32.6 x 23.3. There’s a magisterial beauty to this print, partly due to the vantage point of the viewer. We look up at these huge, gentle beasts of burden as if standing at a point much lower; but this also affords a view of swirling clouds and crying gulls. In many ways, with the plough and the following gulls, this is an archetypal scene, but one, by virtue of the vantage point, which is original in both its conception and its execution. Size: 30.5 x 39.0; paper 43.0 x 51.4cm. Format: Giclée print, Limited Edition (1/850) on 310gms thick, 100% cotton rag. Hand-numbered and hand-embossed.
