Linocut (1931). Printed from three blocks: Spectram Red; Cabalt Blue; Black. Original size: 33.2 x 21.5cm. Both participatory and spectator sports flourished in the ‘20’s and 30’s. The war required able-bodied soldiers, and the 1918 flu epidemic resulted in an interest in health issues generally. Steeplechasing became very popular and the print perfectly captures the precariousness of balance experienced by the riders.
Size: 25.3 x 37.5; paper 59.5 x 42cm Format: Giclée Print, Limited Edition (1/850) on 310gsm thick, 100% cotton rag.
