Because this photograph, through the use of a
light aircraft (see biography) was taken at such a height, it has a
semi-abstract quality which belies the detail which Holloway, when you
look closer, actually captures. But as it is, this photograph, with its
veins and ridges, reminds of some vast epidermis – the skin, not here of
an animal, but rather of the very land itself.   Â
