Eastbourne West Promenade ‘Pebble Beach Series’ by Alej ez

Eastbourne seafront and promenade view that looks West into the South Downs. The green hills meet the sea in the shape of imposing white chalk cliffs; the beach at low tide shows the timber groins and the scattered rocks on the beach; the promenade walk with the thatched beach shelter and the Italian Gardens below the Grand Hotel and the Meads.

This print belongs to a tonal collection that Alej ez named ‘Pebble Beach’. The palette for this collection reflects the variation of colours and tones in the beach pebbles that can be found along the East Sussex Coast. The pebbles are flint, a hard grey rock that was deposited in the chalk cliffs; through natural erosion, the flints are released from the cliffs and slowly make their way through a natural process to form the pebble beaches.
