Saltdean Lido in the city of Brighton and Hove, is an Art Deco lido designed by architect R.W.H. Jones. Originally listed at Grade II by English Heritage for its architectural and historical importance, its status was upgraded further to “Grade II*” on 18 March 2011.
This print depicts East Saltdean with what was once the Grand Ocean, a luxury hotel opened in 1938, designed by architect RWH Jones with the classic modern styling of the age and that is currently luxury apartments; and on the East side over the road is the Whitecliffs Cafe with its expansive view of the chalk cliffs and the English Channel.
